I am a Cork based stockbroker, equity analyst and value investor. The aim of this site is to educate people on investing in the stock markets. Investments are my hobby as well as my work.
Here are some of my investment results from early 2012:
I have been a full time investor since 2005. Contrary to what people think I don’t buy a share and then sell it a few minutes or hours later ( that only happens in exceptional circumstances ). I usually invest with the longer term in mind. Hence I decided to start this site to share my knowledge or to ‘give back’ in Tony Robbins speak.
I became interested in the stock market through my father. During my teenage years my dad had a brokerage account and charts taped up to his ofice wall. He would tell me which stocks I should buy and why. Back then I had no interest in the market but as I got older that slowly changed. I started reading the business pages in newspapers and also kept my ears open as to what what happening locally business-wise.
After a few years I opened an account with a fund but as the fund dived south I saw shares which were holding even and some which were even heading north. I sold my fund position and opened a regular broker account at which I dabbled away for a few years. I then completed a 2.1 Business Degree and knew that if I concentrated on investing full time that I’d make more money than slaving at my employed position.
With that mindset I left my paid profession and started investing on a permanent basis. After one week I had made enough money for one month worth of expenses, after two weeks I had two months worth of expenses. I got the green light from my always supportive wife and worked away…….after the first year I had made more than 6 times my previous annual salary.
Finally after much experience on the markets I sat my stockbroker exams which I passed the first time. So now it’s time to give it all back. I hope that you enjoy my services and please feel free to contact me with any questions.
